“I Wanna Pop Some Tags…”

A few years back A friend of mine,Susan, had a shop in downtown Greensboro that I loved. If you know Greensboro then you are probably aware of Wild&Crazy Vintage. You have either visited for Mardi Gras At The Castle and Burlesque needs…or maybe just to look at her amazing finds and awesome petticoats! Susan is still in business,if you didn’t know. You can find her cool stuff located in Design Archives! Check it out! You never know what she will have!

Before she moved into that location a few of us model gals (Bailey Re, Danny Wolf) got together with amazing photographers (Torey Searcy, Kristin of Keymoon Photography&Bill Welch),who donated their time and good energies, and did a shoot out in downtown using some of Susan’s awesome finds. I was inspired to do this by the Macklemore song …you know which one. Sing with me ,”I’m gonna pop some tags…” hehe. We had such a fun day!!!

Susan has the absolute best variety of thrifty goods that I’ve ever seen. Every amazing decade there displayed before your eyes. You’ll never be able to see her entire collection but I do love browsing what’s for sale each time I go into Design Archives.

Bill Welch Photography. YES you can find anything and everything here. Even clown babies…

The three of us were easily able to find so many choices to really show the diversity of her shop. You really can put together magic in one trip to a great thrift store!

From 80’s prom dresses,L.A. Gear shirt and vintage Converse…to tap shoes and 8 balls…seriously…she has EVERYTHING!

I do miss the physical location of what was Wild&Crazy Vintage. I miss stopping in just visiting with Susan, who is a wealth of knowledge and creativity and browsing history. Often times I’d be handing Susan promotional items for the events at the castle or we’d be chatting about jelly shoes. Those are fond memories. BUT the spirit of that lives on and I am happy to feel those feels anytime I wrap myself in one of her jackets on the rack in it’s new location. A perfect place to carry on! The happy is still there, always …because it’s still Susan 🙂

Final Thoughts:

Working with great people..whether they be other models, hair stylists, mua or photographers..is an absolute blessing. I think this was one of my first times,if not THE VERY FIRST TIME,really meeting and hanging with Danny and she was 1000% amazing. Me and Bailey know each other quite well and have shot together on multiple occasions. She always rocks it! Three gals sharing one space can be tricky but I love working with people that you know this is not going to be an issue with. Keep rocking it ladies 🙂

** About the main photo image. Today I woke up with Neil Gaiman on my mind. This isn’t uncommon 🙂 The quote “Google can bring you back 100,000 answers. A librarian can bring you back the right one.” was round and round in my brain. Isn’t that brilliant? Idk how Neil would feel about being in the same inspirational space as Macklemore (or that I speak about him on a first name basis like we’ve known each other since birth) BUT I’d  like to think he’d be down. Maybe he pops some tags sometimes too 🙂

I’ve always thought of this as my librarian photo. I love LOVE the outfit. I’m holding a book by my other favorite author,Christopher Pike. It always meant a lot to me that the book was involved in some way 🙂 Witch World is a favorite.

The photo is taken by Torey Searcy. He wanted to show some elements of downtown that hadn’t really been captured so we set out on back alleys and street side shop fronts. Greensboro is really quite lovely when you stop and look around.

Until next time…
