My latest FREE for testing purposes VoxBox through Influenster came on Saturday! They are always super exciting to receive BUT in this one they mentioned including a surprise. I was SO curious! As usual I was NOT disappointed.
For more information on or to see if Influenster is right for you then check out my first blog about it here : Influenster VoxBox!
So I knew this campaign was for the Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara so I expected that. Let’s see what else is included!
So let’s look at the contents of this latest free box 🙂
Maybelline Volum’ Express Colossal Big Shot Mascara in Very Black. Retails for $8.49
Super difficult to get a photo of this guy due to the shiny AF packaging. It’s like New Years bling…beautiful!
The formula works great for me! I have nice lashes to begin with so most everything, including cheap stuff, works well. But occasionally there are exceptions…mascaras that just wow me! This one does. I find that products with the thick round brush typically rock my world. This one gives great volume and length! There was no flaking after a full days wear.
I’ve included a dufus photo so you can see the magic that are my lashes. BIG SHOT!
Next as an added bonus I received the Master Precise Curly Liquid Liner in Black. Retails for $7.99.
This product is a trip! I can honestly say that I’ve never used anything quite like this for lining. I’ve been wearing winged liner since middle school and I always judge a liner by how well it wings out. This guy rocks it! I am pretty impressed. I saw a lot of reviews on the website stating that the color washes out pretty quickly. So far I’ve had no issues with that.
So…a value of $16.48 in free products! Never have to pay for shipping either!
I was running SO low on eyeliner so this came at a great time!
All opinions in this blog are obviously my own haha.
I received this Glov Quick Treat makeup remover in a Glossybox MONTHS ago. I read the back, thought it was neat then tossed it in my desk. I thought for some reason that it was a one time use item…for some reason. I found it a few days ago and since I’m out of my makeup wipes I figured I’d give it a go. Ok..hello lifechanger!!
Yes…no cleanser needed….just use water. Is this possible?? I was doubtful indeed.
The one included in my Glossybox was small, made to cover my finger.
I was having serious doubts about using this to take off mascara and eyeliner. That always stains wash cloths but the instructions said just to wash it off and it was set. Let’s see! I have a full face of makeup to put it to the test!
It works surprisingly well. It doesn’t smear around the makeup which is what I thought was going to happen. It also feels super soft on my eyes.
Both eyes and my total face done with this little guy! It’s looking super gross though.
I added some foaming hand cleanser to it,rubbed and rinsed. Ta-dahhhh no stains! MAGICAL!!!!! Afterwards I hung it up to dry and today it is ready to use once again!
Seriously a brilliant creation. I haven’t used any of the other makeup removing towels on the market. I’ve always just used wipes so this is really rad to me! It’s so easy to throw this in my makeup kit too. This particular Glov Quick Treat retails for $5 and there is a larger hand version for $12.99 on Ulta’s website.
I’ll be throwing this in my overnight bag for sure!!!!
What’s your favorite way to take makeup off? Hits…misses? Let me know!
So these are my absolute “must haves” in makeup! Grab coffee and prepare to be here a while, haha. I’ve had a few people beg me for recommendations so here ya go! So many of these products I found through being addicted to subscription boxes!
First up I’ll start with palettes. I went from last year in Jan…having NONE to a month later having 10. I was new to makeup and when you are new you want EVERYTHING….AND you will buy EVERYTHING if you can. I curbed myself as best I could. I started to realize that most palettes are either neutral or colors. How many neutral palettes do I personally need? One or two…three at best if it’s really special. Everyone needs one neutral and one color palette for sure! So here are my favs!
The Too Faced Chocolate Bar…original 🙂
This palette is a dream. It has everything I am looking for…mattes, shimmers, neutrals and a pop of color that goes great with my green eyes. The colors blend SO well and usually I don’t even use a primer with this baby! The colors will still last all day!
There is only one color that doesn’t knock the socks off and that’s Strawberry Bon Bon. It’s sort of a weird choice in this palette and sticks out. It’s like the palest pink and for me it takes some GREAT primer to make it show up at all….and I’m pretty pale.
I told you…I am obsessed. I actually got mine through HSN. As a new customer you get $20 off your first order so I used that to order this palette! The deal of a lifetime!
Next up….color! My absolute fav is Urban Decay’s Spectrum! Yes I’ve seen the new one and it is not for me! This one though is perfection!
I think every color in here is my favorite color. I even love Backlash and have used it. I never would have seen myself in a hot pink. Even though all of these are shimmery or shifty I really dig that there is a neutral row as well. Burn is GORGEOUS.
It’s a magical unicorn. For the most part all these colors blend out evenly. I def suggest a primer under these. It really brings out the color, any shift or sparkle. A glitter glue will help against fallout if you find you have an issue there. I haven’t had any issues though with this palette.
Another trick is my next Holy Grail product. E.L.F.’s Makeup Mist And Set Mist. An inexpensive alternative to Mac’s Fix Plus. The photo on the right shows a brush swatch of each color and then a brush swatch using the E.L.F. It brings out shift, color and any sparkle. It’s fabulous and a steal at $2.99!!
Next up…primers! So I use various ones on and off but my heart has settled upon these depending on my need for the day or what my skin is doing!
Stila’s One Step Correct is brilliant. It corrects so many of my issues in one step. The dullness, patchy spots and any redness are GONE! Sometimes I put this on after moisturizer and just skip my foundation!
E.L.F. Glitter Glue…works just like Too Faced Glitter Glue for me but costs $2 vs $20.00 I wore cheapo brand Dollar Tree silver loose shimmer pigments when I cosplayed as Quicksilver. I used this Glitter Glue to apply it and went to a Halloween party. It didn’t budge the whole night. It’s amazing. If you work with glitter or like shimmery shadow then you need this.
Too Faced Hangover. Honestly…on days I feel like poo and my skin looks haggard AF. You know those days….ladies. It has this yummy coconut smell that immediately makes me feel better. It’s like the comfort food of primers 🙂 It makes my skin feel great and plumps it back out. No more dullness and makeup lasts all day!
Becca’s Backlight Priming Filter for days when I don’t need much correcting except for dullness. It gives my skin a fabulous glow. It really does blur out any imperfections as well!
Too Faced Shadow Insurance…is my new favorite primer. UD Primer Potion was ok but I found the Too Faced held up better on my skin. Colors stay vibrant and it brings out all the shift and shimmers!
AND Smashbox Photo Finish. Lamely enough or fittingly enough…anytime I am doing a photo shoot….this guy is on my face! It’s texture is velvet. And your makeup is not going to budge! Hands down …perfection.
For brows I have one go to guy. It Cosmetics Brow Power. Natural color and coverage that is buildable and doesn’t move. It’s a firmer twist up stick which I appreciate. I break soft things.
Mascaras are a tie. I have long lashes so most everything works for me. A few months back my Glossy Box had a sample of Benefit’s Roller Lash in it. I was shocked at how great it was. The wand actually grabbed my lashes and curled them upward. No clumping and no flaking with this brand. It’s fantastical!
For Highlighter I go with Colour Pop. I’m obsessed. I own probably 8 of them currently. I am dying for Yummy Cookies from the Hello Kitty set BUT I saw it only comes in a set. Darn it! My first purchase from them was this one in Monster! It’s a pinky/purplish shade, super pretty. These are inexpensive and have an interesting texture.
Too Faced makes the cutest Blushes. I want to collect them all but I must retrain myself…esp now that Funfetti is on HSN.
For eyeliner I usually always go with a wing. I’ve been doing that since middle school so I don’t typically have to use anything fancy to achieve it. Gel,cream, pencil, liquid is all the same to me. I will say if you have a hard time getting a precise line then use Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner. It will fix that issue! The Skone I have pictured here is very similar to that. If I don’t use the Skone Tattooed Liner then I use this E.L.F cream eyeliner with the E.L.F liner brush. An inexpensive combo.
For my face Clinique is working very well for me. I love the coverage level in this one. My Real Techniques makeup sponge can sheer it out some on days when I need less. Hard Candys concealer takes care of any issue and I also used it to cover my tattoos for certain jobs I’ve had!
I don’t wear lipstick all that often. The ones I have are all from subscription boxes! I have two shades that I do love and wear on occasion. Hikai in Merlot and Mellow in Nude. Both work well with my skin tone and don’t dry out my lips.
**I will also say that the hot pink you see in the photos on this blog is NYX Lip Suede in Pink Lust and the red is LASplash Lipgloss in Red Carpet made special for Glossy Box**
AND to take all of this off I use Fresh Soy Conditioning Eye Makeup Remover. I rub it on my eyes and basically it takes it all off in one swipe or two. For my face I go with Skyn Iceland’s Glacial Cleansing Cloths. They get everything off my face! On days when I wear a full face of primers and mascaras and such…that is very much needed. It’s ok to laugh at the middle picture 🙂
I haven’t found a setting powder that I’m crazy about. I’m open to suggestions! I am currently using Maybelline’s Fit Me for powder and it’s just ok. I don’t do contouring much or bronzing. It tends to just make me look orange 🙂
So that’s my list! What are some of yours! Are some of them on this list? Anything amazing that might change my world that I should try?
This week I received some free samples from a new company I’m checking out called PINCHme.
You answer a series of questions about your household and shopping habits in the Member Profile. Once you do this they learn what you like and offer samples just for you. You get to choose the samples you receive!
Available to me at the time I signed up was a 6oz trial sized bag of Purina ONE Tender Selects Blend With Real Chicken and a Scotch Brite Scrubbing Dish Cloth. Both of these sounded good to me so I added them to my box and they said I should receive it shortly.
No charges for shipping and it came to me within a week! So let’s see what we have here!
A 6oz bag of Purina ONE Tender Selects Blend With Real Chicken and a coupon for more. And let me tell you….my cats went wild for this stuff. I’m debating either changing over to it or keeping a bag on hand to give them as “treats”. They are obsessed. I appreciate the very generous sample size and that they included a coupon for more! SCORE!
And the other item is a Scotch Brite Scrubbing Cloth! I have to say I really like this! I don’t know why I haven’t gotten any before. I suppose I’m just used to trying to scrub with wash cloths. This cloth makes it so much easier to get stuck on food off the dishes. I’m a huge fan!
These are sold in 2’s in multiple color options for $4.99. So this cloths value is $2.50,not bad!
After you receive and use your items you can access your account to leave feedback on them! This procedure is super easy. You answer a few questions and write a short review on the product! And you’re done!
The important thing with all these programs like influenster,BzzAgent,or PINCHme is to make sure that you fill out your profile with your wants and needs. This way you get the best possible samples offered to you!
ON PINCHme you can even make a Wish List of past samples. They will alert you if they come available again! And let me tell you…they have everything from pet food/supplies and dish cloths to makeup, coffee, skin care and food items!
There is a countdown to Sample Day on my screen. It reminds me that new samples will become available in 20 days. So it looks like every month a box of free goodies can be available to you!
BzzAgent is an international network of consumers who voluntarily participate in word-of-mouth (WOM) campaigns for a variety of products and services. Basically, we’re a community of communicators!
We try products and services sent to us by BzzAgent and then then share our honest opinions about them with people we know.
BzzAgent is different than Influenster VoxBox! in that you are not required to post reviews on all platforms of social media once you receive the products. There is only one review for each product and that’s it. Super simple! You also don’t have to interact with the site daily or weekly to remain current or be considered for the upcoming box. In fact I hadn’t been on the site in months and then I received this box of happy in the mail!
Each product in this box retails for $24.99…so BzzAgent sent me $74.97 worth of free skin care and they even paid for shipping!
Let’s look at each piece closer!

I am NOT a doTerra rep,I just love it! I have been interested in aromatherapy since it came back around in the 90’s. Most of the products I used just smelled good but didn’t do anything real for me. doterra changed that for me!
Since there are so many oils and products to choose from,my friends are always asking me which ones I use. There is indeed an oil for anything!! These are my favorites:
First off,I cannot live without Peppermint. I get it in the bottle and beadlets for on the go. And here’s why:
It works wonders with headaches and the lovely migraines I earned at 34. Before the gift of migraines I received car sickness. The peppermint works wonders against that as well.
Next! Past Tense in a roller ball. If you stay slightly stressed like I do..this will be your salvation. I keep it in my purse and use it across my shoulders where I tend to stay tense.
A new favorite is Wild Orange. It is such a bright, happy, pick me up that has so many great benefits. Since it’s starting to get cooler out and I easily catch colds…I’ll be packing this in my gym bag.
Speaking of sickness!
On Guard (anything) !!
The whole On Guard system is amazing. I use the toothpaste daily,it has a unique flavor that I love! I also use the lozenges and beadlets for traveling.
And lastly,Deep Blue Rub.
Feels and smells amazing and works so well on my post workout body! The best massage lotion I’ve ever used!
I’ve only been using essential oils about a year now. I’m wide open to suggestions although I do want to stick with doTerra because it’s the only one that has worked for me. I hope to add many more awesome products and oils to my most loved list!
I recently received my 4th FREE box through Influenster! YES FREE. No I didn’t pay for shipping either. For more information on Influenster and how it works check out my original blog : Influenster VoxBox! and maybe sign up!
This box was the largest I’ve recieved.
People always ask me how often I get one of these boxes. So far I’m getting them around every two months. Not bad at all! This was my first month with full-sized products! Super exciting.
Interaction gets you boxes. They want to see that you are active on social media sites and that people are interacting with you as well. Also filling out reviews on products is super helpful! I recently downloaded the Influenster app on my phone so that I could easily scan in items to review. I actually find it fun 🙂
So here’s what I got and what how I felt about it. Obviously these products were sent to me for free for testing purposes. All opinions though are strictly mine!
Aussie Total Miracle 7 N 1 Shampoo and Conditioner: According to Ausie this duo provides strength against damage, silky softness, split end protection, nourishing moisture, humidity control, brilliant shine and lasting smoothness.
AND I loved them.
Shampoo: It’s difficult for me to ever tell if I love a shampoo. I have naturally crazy curly/frizzy/dry….basically horse hair on my head. It’s made worse by constant use of heat tools to keep it under control. I don’t wash it frequently. It takes a few days to get any natural oil in it. The problem is I do get scalp buildup and it’s been a pain trying to find something to fix that issue. This shampoo worked wonders on my scalp! It also smells amazing!
Conditioner: Amazing smell. My hair felt super soft in the shower with this which usually doesn’t carry over to my hair after dried. This time there was a big difference. It made my crazy hair more manageable.
At $2.97 for 12 oz a piece for these they are very affordable and worked great for me!
I also wanted to say a huge thanks for covering the items in plastic when shipping. If you’ve ever recieved a busted moisturizer or shampoo alongside other objects you’ll understand why!
And last product!
Aussie Total Miracle 7 n 1 Dry Shampoo: This product is supposed to do it all with a first day clean look, freshness boost, lightweight fullness, color protection, refreshed feel, matte finish and great scent!
Dry Shampoo: I’m still so very curious about these because I’ve only ever tried the one from Batiste. I really liked the idea of them because of hair issues mentioned earlier. BUT the Batiste and my hair didn’t get along well. It smelled lovely but it made my hair white! Haha. I didn’t realize you had to get one for dark hair, otherwise that would happen!
This one didn’t have that effect at all! No weird white hair. The smell was a little unexpected though. I had assumed it would smell sort of tropical like the rest of the hair line but it doesn’t at all. It has an almost medicinal grape smell when you spray it onto your hair. After it’s on your hair, though, it smells quite lovely!
The product does exactly what it describes! It refreshes your hair! I’m sitting here smelling mine as I write this 🙂 The product retails at $2.99 for 4.9 oz. I’ll keep up with how long that lasts for me and update this.
So yet another awesome box from Influenster. If this looks interesting to you ,take a minute and check them out! I’ve gotten some great boxes!
